When a House Becomes a Home

Before I dive into revealing the beautiful changes we made to our home, I want to take a minute to acknowledge how we got to this point.

Throughout my blog I hope to share with you, all of the amazing people in my life that have helped me to where I am today and bring so much joy to all aspects of my world, and there are not two people more deserving of this acknowledgement than the two I get to call mom and dad.

It is no exaggeration to say that I could sit here for the rest of my existence talking about the countless ways in which my mother and father have done everything they can to bring happiness and success into my life. But to spare you all, I will only discuss the help and encouragement they provided to Jordan and I along the journey of purchasing and moving into our first home.

From the second we started searching for our home, my parents were right behind us every step of the way. Whether it was viewing potential homes, sending us pictures of houses for sale found from newspaper clippings, being present for every inspection, providing their knowledge in areas where we had none, they were the solid foundation that provided us comfort and stability while going through this process. And the second we signed the papers on what we now get to call our home, their help and support only increased.

The three weeks that it took us to transform our house into a home that we were excited to move into, they were both out there every day without question, helping us complete projects that we would never have been able to do ourselves. They provided us with their incredibly hard work, continuously uplifting support, a shoulder to lean on when we were becoming doubtful, and never once asked for anything in return, just like they have throughout my whole entire life.

The pictures I have to show below, of the living room and dining room, capture some of the major changes that we made to the house, all of which could not have been completed without my amazing mother and father. The walls have been painted, trim was ripped out and replaced, lighting fixtures updated, dining room chairs painted, and new furniture brought in, to make this once outdated home look new and improved! This is only the beginning of our long list of updates that we will be partaking in along this journey, but I hope you are as amazed by the differences we have made as I am! Enjoy, and let me know your thoughts 🙂
